We are delighted to announce a roundtable for USRBC members with Deputy U.S. Trade Representative and Chief of Mission in Geneva Ambassador Dennis Shea on Monday, July 2nd, at 2pm at USTR (Winder Building, 600 17th Street NW, Washington, DC 20508). This will be an opportunity for USRBC members to hear from a leading Trump Administration trade official on developments at the World Trade Organization and respond to any questions you may have regarding engagement there with the Russian Federation. This meeting is especially timely as Russia is working to submit to the WTO its list of U.S. goods that would be subject to retaliatory tariffs in response to U.S. section 232 aluminum and steel tariffs.
Dennis Shea serves as Deputy United States Trade Representative and Chief of Mission, Geneva, where he represents the United States as Ambassador to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Ambassador Shea was confirmed by the Senate on March 1, 2018. Before joining the Office of the USTR, Ambassador Shea served for 11 years as a member of the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, a bipartisan organization that annually assesses the U.S.-China security, economic and trade relationship, including China’s compliance with its WTO commitments. Ambassador Shea received an A.B. from Harvard College, an A.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
Please RSVP by COB Thursday, June 28, to Stephen McRae at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any questions, please contact me by return email or 202.739.9196.
Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you on July 2nd at USTR.
